We are all anticipating the release date for the new iPhone, and the yearly tech tradition is right around the corner. Apple typically releases the iPhone at the same time every year, in September. What are some of the key differences between iPhone 15 and iPhone 16?
1. Apple Intelligence
The iPhone 15 is powered by the A16 Bionic chip, while the iPhone 16 will be upgraded to the A18 chip. The A18 chip offers better performance and efficiency and enables AI driven features. The iPhone 16 will be a platform for Apple Intelligence.
2. Improved Cameras on iPhone 16
The camera is designed with a smaller bump and vertically stacked lenses. It also introduces the ability to record spatial video, making it suitable for viewing on Apple’s Vision Pro.

3. New Action Button for iPhone 16
The iPhone 15’s mute switch will be replaced with an Action Button on the iPhone 16, customizable for various functions. It replaces the single-function switch used to toggle between ring and silent. iPhone 15 Pro users would already be familiar with this. You can now choose between quickly accessing the camera or flashlight, activating Voice Memos, Focus modes, Translate, and accessibility features.

4. Increased battery life
The iPhone 16 is rumored to have a larger battery, up to 9% larger than the iPhone 15. The battery has also been modified to increase energy density.
5. iPhone 16 new design upgrade
The iPhone 16 is rumored to be made bigger than any previous iPhones, with the iPhone 16 pro at 6.3 inches and the Pro Max at 6.9 inches. The iPhone 15 pro is 6.1 inches, with the Pro Max at 6.7 inches. This will be the first size update in years.
6. Improved Siri
Siri will be improved and with a richer understanding in natural language, meaning you can talk to Siri the same way you talk to your friends. You can also now type to Siri.
7. New iPhone 16 Colors
There are some new colors rumored for the iPhone 16, such as green and purple, among black, pink, yellow and blue. OtterBox, an official partner of Apple, has already released accessories for other Apple products, in forest green and purple, which may give us hints that they are making the new colors to match the iPhone 16.
